Hello beautiful! I am Brenna Bolick, a Personal Stylist for my business Brenna Bolick Style. I think most people have a misconception about what a Personal Stylist does. They may think Personal Stylists only help celebrities, but my dream (and the heart behind what I do) is to help real, everyday, working women be the best version of themselves. I want all of my clients to know how beautiful they already are! I offer different services such as Personal Shopping and Image Consulting.
However, my favorite service is a Closet Consultation, which is basically a closet makeover. A Closet Consultation looks like me coming to your home and shopping your closet! All my clients say, “It’s so much fun!” I style complete outfits for you with the clothing you already own and we sort out what clothing is worth donating or altering. Finally, we get rid of anything that doesn’t make you look or feel amazing and create a shopping list for items to complete your wardrobe!
What does personal style mean to you? When you hear the word “fashion” what does it mean to you?
Personal style to me is like telling someone to build their favorite ice cream sundae! Some people like hot fudge and whipped cream just like some people love dresses and boots, or boho looks versus more classic styles. Anyone can buy a black dress from a store, but how will you accessorize to make it your own?
Personal Style is You.
Fashion, to me, means the endless opportunities to make a statement with your style. That’s what my Grandad would always say to me: ”Brenna! Are you making a statement?!”
Fashion means EXCITEMENT! It is a new opportunity to create!
Personal Style: How do you think it is acquired? How did you acquire yours?
I think we acquire our personal style through so many factors, like where we grew up, our families, the culture that surrounds us in our cities, as well as the impact of media, music, and the fashion industry showing trends and telling us, “This is how you should look”.
I think I acquired my personal taste and style from my grandparents and my mom and dad. I was raised in a very creative household where my mom was always creating crafts and decorating our house in a beautiful way, and my dad is a musician so music has always been a huge impact on my life, too. I think my outfits became a form of art and creativity for me at a very young age.
Tell us about the piece of clothing in your wardrobe that makes you feel most confident?
I feel most confident in the jumpsuits that I own. I love the long, clean line they create on my body, but also how it nips in at my waist to show off the smallest part of my body. Jumpsuits are just really flattering, fun, and hug my curves in all the right places.
What staple pieces do you believe every woman should own?
Every woman should own...
An amazing fitting jean,
A jean jacket,
A dress that makes you feel amazing,
A black and white stripe tee,
A pair of heels you can walk in,
Something animal print or a print you love and brings you joy!
